It has been an unusually calm summer at one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Real Madrid, the Champions of Europe, have spent just £30m in the transfer window, all on one player in Alvaro Morata, taking him back from Juventus.
However, with the deadline day approaching, the club has been linked to a select few elite players for a move this summer.
One of them is former Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas moved to Barcelona from Arsenal back in 2011 and won almost everything in Spain and Europe.
He moved back to the Premier League with Jose Mourinho stitching a top class Chelsea team to win the Premier League title in his first season back at the Stamford Bridge.
However, Fabregas was out of form for most of the last season under Mourinho as well as Guus Hiddink and is not a player Antonio Conte, the new boss at the Bridge favors much.
This has seen the Spaniard linked with a move away from the club with the likes of Liverpool linked with a move this summer.
Reports today have suggested that Conte wants to get rid of the player with the 29-year old also offered to Inter Milan as a part of a swap deal in their bid to land Marcelo Brozovic, the Croatian international who has been on the radar of the club for some time now.
Though that deal has been rejected by the Italian club, more recent reports have revealed that Conte has also offered the Spaniard a way back to his home land but this time in the capital.
It is understood that Chelsea offered the 29-year old to Real Madrid, one of the few clubs that match his stature.
However, it is also reported that that the European Champions have rejected any notion of a move for the Spaniard this summer.
According to El Confidencial, Real have made it clear that they have no intentions of signing the player, before the deadline day.
Fabregas has found a place only on the bench in the first three games under Conte this season but he was involved in one of the winners in Conte’s 3 victories at the club.
It is to be seen if the former Italian boss will keep hold of the player or off load him on the cheap to one of his rivals.
Do you think Chelsea should sell Fabregas this before the deadline day?
