Both Eddie Howe and Louis van Gaal have spent very different weeks. If the Dutch manager thought the goalless draw with West Ham was not a good performance, van Gaal entered a whole new level of outbursts from the United fans after the defeat at Wolfsburg and a Champions League exit. However, United domestically remain three points behind the league leaders but understand that Bournemouth buoyed by their excellent win against Chelsea, could complete a quite miserable week today when they host the Red Devils.

After the Champions League exit, now Europa League awaits, but the United fans will be hoping that atleast the team make a stronger challenge in the Premier league. Frustration in the stands has been evident throughout this campaign, despite Manchester United right now in a good position domestically, but last weekend’s blunt goalless draw against West Ham was further evidence that van Gaal’s men lack firepower in the final third.

For this match United will be without Schweinsteiger due the suspension, both Darmian and Smalling also sidelined with injury.

Here is the starting lineup for Bournemouth and Manchester United.
