Revealed: Manchester United v West Ham United XI – Fellaini starts, injured Rooney out

Manchester United are right now sitting third and only a point behind Leicester and Manchester City despite playing somewhat tepid football till now this season. On the other hand, West Ham United have defeated Arsenal, Liverpool and City in away fixtures and Chelsea at home. The success of the Red Devils basically is built on a Scrooge-like defence line, whereas Stefan Bilic’s West Ham are unfazed by seeing off more heralded names. This could eventually end with a draw.

Manchester United have recorded the least amount of goals this term while conceding 10 goals in 14 matches, but it is the lack of action in the final third which has given rise to so many suggestions urging the 20-time English champions can do more. With four League goals, playmaker Juan Mata is surprisingly their leading scorer this term which has seen captain Rooney struggling in front of the goal.

However, Louis van Gaal faces a selection dilema as skipper Wayne Rooney, defender Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera and Phil Jones all set to miss the match

Here is the starting lineup for both the teams.

Manchester United Starting Lineup:

De Gea, Darmian, McNair, Smalling, Blind, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Mata, Fellaini, Lingard, Martial

Manchester United Substitutes:

Romero, Borthwick-Jackson, Varela, Carrick, Pereira, Young, Memphis

West Ham United Starting Lineup:

Adrian, Tomkins, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Song, Noble (c), Kouyate, Moses, Zarate, Carroll

West Ham United Substitutes:

Romero, Pereira, Borthwick-Jackson, Carrick, Young, Memphis, Varela
