Roberto Carlos, the Brazilian legend is in deep trouble before his Delhi Dynamos take part in a crucial match against FC Goa in Margao on Sunday. The first major problem, Delhi Dynamos coach has been facing is the injury of his footballers. All the three goalkeepers in his team have been plagued by injury as none of them will be available for the match against FC Goa. So, in an emergency move, the Delhi-based franchise club has roped in another goalkeeper, Ishant Debnath from Kolkata on loan. And Debnath, who reached Delhi on last Friday, said he is yet to regain match fitness.
The second crucial difficulty, Roberto Carlos has been suffering is that he has expressed reluctance to release his three footballers who have been selected in the senior Indian squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Turkmenistan and Oman. The three footballers are Robin Singh, Francis Fernandez and Shehenaj Singh.
The Delhi Dynamos, in a communication to the All India Football Federation secretary, has informed that team’s coach Roberto Carlos does not want to release these players before they participate in the match against FC Goa on 4th October in Goa. But Indian team left on the same day. Delhi Dynamos has informed that these players will join the national team in Dubai. Chief national coach Stephen Constantine is extremely angry with the franchise and said that if these three players join the national team in Dubai they will not be allowed to tour with the national squad.
With the damaging scenario, Roberto Carlos said it would be highly difficult for his team to compete against FC Goa mainly due to their experienced legendary Brazilian coach Zico. Carlos said, “As a coach also, he has been brilliant. So, the reflection of his coaching will make the match tough for us.”
