Arsenal are one of the many EPL clubs that are entering a summer of transition at the end of the current season.
A number of stars are linked with a potential move to the Emirates come this summer and a number of star players are set to leave the club having failed to win over the manager over the last few years.
One such star is England national star winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The 22-year old winger who cost Arsenal £15m in 2011 from Southampton is out of favor at the club and is currently battling a knee injury.
And the Saints are reportedly interested in the winger who has failed to establish himself in the Gunners squad over the last 4 seasons.
Jose Fonte, the skipper of the St Marys franchise is now trying to persuade his former teammate to move back to Southampton at the end of the season.
32-year old Fonte had a good relationship with Chamberlain and is hoping for a reunion with the winger at the start of the next season.
The 22-year old was linked with a move to the St Marys in January but Wenger was reportedly not keen to sell a star player in the middle of the season but injuries and lack of form has seen the Frenchman put the winger up for transfer this summer.
Chamberlain, who has two years of his contract still left the Emirates has in the past revealed that he wants to stay at the club and prove himself but with chances in the first team becoming scarce next season, he might consider a move away from the club at the end of the current season.
A number of clubs including West Ham and Chelsea are also monitoring the progress of the player.
The Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is a long-term admirer of the England international and wants him to play for his franchise next season. But Southampton are hoping to steal their man by using their previous connections.
The player also is understood to be reluctant to move to a London club out of respect to the Gunners leaving the Saints as the only viable option in the summer.
However, at the end of the season, there may be plenty of other clubs who might want to get their hand on the youngster who has shown great promise in the past.
It will be interesting to see where the 22-year ends up come the start of the next season but at the moment, he will be hoping to recover from the knee injury and make himself available to Roy Hodgson who will lead the England national team in the EURO16 in France later this year.
Do you think Arsenal should sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer?
