According to latest reports, Southampton are lining a loan deal for Arsenal goal-keeper Wojciech Szczesny. The player has recently lost his starting place to David Ospina in the second half of the season after a string of poor performances.
The player have last made a Premier League appearance back on New Year’s Day and have not featured since in any league match and David Ospina has caught the attention of everyone at the club with his impressive performances.
Meanwhile, Southampton are currently using their third choice goalkeeper as their regular starter and captain Fraser Forster could miss the whole of next season after sustaining a serious knee injury against Burnley in March and 23-year old Paulo Gazzaniga is also injured.
The Saints manager Ronald Koeman reportedly wants to bring Szczesny to St Mary’s on a season-long loan as he will help Saints and can be used as a cover to their 38-year old Forster who might recover by the end of the next season.
A loan to Southampton would mean Wojciech Szczesny can prove his worth to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal would be happy to let the player go on loan to see his progress over the course of next season.
