Southampton have placed an official price tag Manchester United and Arsenal target Morgan Scheniderlin. According to the reports in Mirror, Saints have slapped a £24million price tag on the French midfielder.
Schneiderlin has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for last few weeks but it was never clear if Southampton wanted to sell their star player. Saint shave previously blocked both Tottenham’s and Arsenal’s approach to sign the player.
Last season, Schneiderlin revealed a shocking story where Tottenham made an official £10million bid for the player only to be rejected by the club from St. Marys. Having revealed that information, Schneiderlin ended any hopes of him joining Spurs.
Since then, Arsenal and Manchester United have been battling to sign Schneiderlin and according to several sources, Manchester United is his favored destination.
Louis Van Gaal is eager to add a combative midfielder to his side, who can be pursued as a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick. Schneiderlin, 25 is at the peak of his game and has enough Premier League experience to seamlessly adapt to life at Old Trafford.
Schneiderlin’s £24million valuation will come as a renewed hopes for Manchester United to sign the Frenchman from Southampton. United have been previously linked with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal who will cost the club anything between £25-50million.
However, Schneiderlin’s move would depend on how aggressively Van Gaal wants to bring his former player Bastin Schweinsteiger at Old Traford. The German has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and at £10million, he offers a suitable secondary option to Morgan Schneiderlin.
