Press conference of Spain President:

“This is not a club, we came to win the World Cup, it hurts you, right, but swallow your pride and let us play. What has happened with Lopetegui has forced us to make this decision. He has done great things, but now we wish him luck for the future,”

“Negotiations with Real Madrid were done without the Federation’s knowledge. I don’t feel betrayed by Lopetegui, he’s done great here, but this is how it must go. e cannot stay on the sidelines of negotiation with an RFEF employee and find out five minutes before [the official announcement],”

“The federation’s values are set by the Federation. I wish the best for Julen.”

The videos have been made viral where Lopetegui had reportedly been in a heated debate with sporting director of Spanish Football, Fernando Hierro.

The debate was said to be regarding the decision of joining Real Madrid in the time of World Cup. The official confirmation has been made that Fernando Hierro, will be taking over for the FIFA World Cup 2018.
