Southampton forward Juanmi is determined to make an impact in Premier league after joining the club from Malaga.

The striker has been in poor form throughout the season and has revealed that he is in contact with Malaga with regard to a possible return to La Liga during the January transfer window, though he has made it clear he wants to stay with the saints.

The Spanish striker has struggled to find a place in Ronald Koeman’s team since his summer arrival at St.Mary’s Stadium.

Battling poor form all season, the striker is determined to do well in the second part of the campaign.

The 22 year old forward move to Southampton last summer after getting noticed by the Dutch boss during a splendid spell at La Liga last campaign.

The striker netted 8 goals and earned a place in the Spanish national team against Netherlands after Diego Costa pulled out citing injury.

The Saints didn’t think twice to meet his release cause of £5.1m ($7.6m) by Malaga to bring him to the premier league.

He is yet to start a single game for the Saints this season and his seven appearances for the team has come as a substitute, but has played in the League Cup and Europa League.

Malaga are trying to use this opportunity to lure him back to La Liga for the second part of the campaign as the club is looking players who can help them

avoid relegation this season.

Malaga has 14 points from 15 games and is just above the bottom three.

When asked whether he was ready to return to Malaga, the striker said,

“No, no. I’m focused on my club, trying to adapt as quickly as possible to get more minutes and play games.

Right now I don’t think that. I have been here just five months and I am happy. I am sure that the minutes will arrive with the hard work.”

Malaga are desperate to bring him back and have talked with him over the issue.

“Yes, there have been contacts but I think now is time to complete my adaptation to Southampton and make my name in this league. Today I don’t

consider anything else.”

The Spaniard signed a four year deal with the Saints in the summer and is ready to earn a his place in the team and play from the start.
