Since Juan Mata joined Manchester United last January, he is yet to cement a place in the starting lineup. Which pondered some pundits to suggest that Mata will be offloaded soon to make way for new signings.
However, stats reveal that since Mata joined United from Chelsea, he has been more productive for the Reds than Hazard for Blues.
Both the players have 11 goals to their name in that period. However, Mata out smarts the Belgian by one assist more. Mata has five assists, whereas Hazard has four assists.
Mate who was named Player of the Year during his two full seasons at Stamford Bridge has achieved these in lesser minutes compared to Hazrad. The Belgian in that period has played over 2,300 minutes of football, while Mata has bettered it in little over 2,100 minutes.
For every 158 minutes it has taken Hazard to either score a goal or provide an assist in the Premier League since Mata’s move. Whereas, it has taken Mata 21 minutes less to do the same as he has scored a goal or made an assist every 137 minutes.
Hazard has managed six goals in 16 Premier League games, while Mata has scored five in just 13 this season. If we are to believe the stats, then Van Gaal might be making a huge mistake if he were to sell Mata.
