The EPL is one of the most competitive leagues in Europe. It has over the years produced some great moments to savor and has given the fans loads of reasons to rejoice. The year 2015 has not been any different and has been even more exciting with loads of things making headlines apart from the action on the field.
There were a number of memorable moments in this year and we will try and recapitulate those moments with just a day to go for the turn of the year. Here are 10 un-forgettable moments from the EPL in 2015:
1. Charlie Adam’s stunner from inside his half:
In one of the most un-believable moments of the EPL this year, Charlie Adam’s equalizer against Chelsea stands out. Picking up the ball just outside his penalty area, Charlie Adam caught Thibaut Courtois off his line and picked his spot superbly.
2. Southampton put 8 past Sunderland:
It all started with an atrocious own goal but ended in humiliation for the Black Cats as they were just mere spectators on a day when the Saints were just relentless in their approach. Sunderland just did not turn up on the day and will not forget this defeat easily.
3. Steven Gerrard makes a cameo:
In a crunch situation with United 1-0 up at half time, Rodgers bought in Steven Gerrard to shake things up but the ever energetic skipper lunged into an un-necessary challenge that saw him dismissed just 38 seconds after coming onto the pitch. He was shown a straight red card and left his team battling the rest of the game with 10 men.
4. Pardew and Pellegrini lose it:
Playing Crystal palace at the Selhurst Park is never easy and Manchester City learnt it the hard way last season as the frustrations on the field transformed into a heated and angry debate on the touch line between the two managers. Watch the video and try to find what set the two managers off

5. Chelsea lift the Premier League trophy and are given a guard of honor by Liverpool:
A 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace at the Bridge in May was enough for Jose Mourinho and his men to lift the Barclays Premier League trophy. They won the league with games to spare and showed everyone the quality of their squad and the manager. They got a guard of honor in the next game at the Bridge from the Liverpool players which is a sight not many will forget quickly.
6. Jonas Gutierrez the Hero for Newcastle:
Fighting testicular cancer twice and receiving chemotherapy in October last season, Gutierrez’ football career seemed to have come to an end. But he provided the most important goal for the Magpies last season against West Ham Untied that saw them seal a place in the top flight this season.
7. An embarrassing farewell to Steven Gerrard:
After serving for 16 years at his child hood club, Steven Gerrard announced that he will leave the club and move to the US last season. His last game in a Liverpool was one of his worst as his team were humiliated 6-1 on the last day of the Premier League last season. This was not a fitting farewell for the Liverpool legend who had many more happy memories with the club.
8. Jurgen Klopp embraces the EPL:
After a horrid 2014/15 season and a mediocre start to this season, FSG and Liverpool made the decision to sack Brendan Rodgers and acted quickly to acquire the signature of Jurgen Klopp one of the most tactically astute managers in Europe. He made a great impact in the Bundesliga but will take time to adjust to the Premier League. However, his presence in the country will only make things better for the league.
9. Jamie Vardy breaks all time Premier League record:
It is not easy to appear in 12 consecutive Premier League matches with the intensity in the fixture list but Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy created history as he broke Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record scoring in most consecutive appearances in the Premier League. Vardy scored in 12 consecutive games and holds a record that will be hard to beat. You can take a look at all his goals in his incredible run in the video below:
10. Jose Mourinho sacked!
Just 6 months after lifting the Barclays Premier League trophy, Jose Mourinho, one of the most decorated managers in the history of the game was relieved off his duties thanks to a miserable run of form for the Blues this season. Mourinho lost 9 games in the 16 before he was sacked and was replaced by Guus Hiddink who is yet to lose a game with Chelsea. However, losing Mourinho from the league is a huge loss for the whole BPL franchise.
