Transfer Talk: Barcelona preparing 50 million pounds bid for Arsenal star

According to Sunday Express’ media reports, La Liga and European giants FC Barcelona are ready to spend £50 million to lure the services of Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey.

The Welsh midfielder who is known for his versatility in the midfield has been linked with a move to Barcelona since last summer. It was believed that Barcelona identified Ramsey as a long term replacement of their legendary midfielder Xavi Hernandez who left this summer.

The Gunners star is an integral member of Arsene Wenger’s outfit and generally operates from the right flank along side Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. Together the trio looks extremely lethal and they are definitely the key reason for Arsenal’s success this season. Unfortunately, Arsenal have missed the services of Alexis Sanchez and central midfielder Santi Cazorla due to gruelling injuries. Cazorla’s absence in the midfield forced Wenger to field Ramsey in central midfield role.

The transfer link up would definitely raise some eye brows at the Emirates, as Aaron Ramsey is definitely one of the most important players at the club and his departure would cost the club heavily. Arsenal are currently favorites in England to lift the Premier League trophy.

But it looks highly unlikely as neither Barcelona nor Arsenal would be much interested in such a trnasfer rumour. FC Barcelona already have an array of talented midfielders in their ranks. They recently added Turkish star Arda Turan in their squad. With the likes of Sergio Busquets, Andres Iniesta, Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto in their squad, we do not think Luis Enrique would further spend a big amount behind yet another midfielder. Arsenal too would not release their priced possession for just £50 million.

In another news, the defending UEFA Champions League are interested in signing Everton youth sensation and English central defender John Stones. The youngster was a hot property during the previous transfer window as both Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United were keen on signing the player. The then Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reportedly was ready to spend a record sum to bring in the defender, unfortunately the move did not materialise as Everton manager Roberto Martinez was not ready to let go his rising star.

Now again as the new transfer window has started it is being reported that John Stones is attracting bids from all over the world. After Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid, FC Barcelona are also linked heavily with the player.
