Jurgen Klopp will have to wait for yet another week to bag his first win as a Liverpool manager as the Reds were held for a 1-1 draw by Ronald Koeman’s Southampton.
Liverpool took on Southampton in a crucial game week 10 encounter at Anfield which was also Jurgen Klopp’s first home game in the Premier League. Last week, in Klopp’s debut game Liverpool drew 0-0 against Tottenham Hotspur.
A lot was expected from the Liverpool as the fans were desperate to see their team register a win under the new manager’s reign. Liverpool missed the services of star striker Daniel Sturridge due to injury. Divock Origi started upfront. Unfortunately, the Belgian was not up to the mark as he was replaced by his compatriot Christian Benteke in the second half.
In the dyeing moments of the match around the 80th minute mark, James Milner floated a brilliant corss inside the penalty box which was headed in magnificiently by Benteke. But just when the Koppites were on the verge to start their celebrations Sadio Mane equalised with a tap in to snatch away a point.
As Liverpool failed to grab full three points, fans around the world showed their disappointment.
