Uncertainty looms large over Bright Lukman's joining East Bengal

All on a sudden, uncertainty looms large over Bright Lukman’s joining East Bengal in the next season as a fourth foreigner. The Ghanaian forward was confirmed by the East Bengal officials about the player’s joining before East Bengal’s I-League opener on 10th January against Sporting Clube de Goa.

On Saturday, East Bengal football secretary Santosh Bhattacharya commented on the issue, “I have doubt whether Bright Lukman will finally join the team.”

Team’s most influential official Debabrata Sarkar however informed, the club has already sent papers for visa of Bright. But the most interesting thing in this confusing story is that, Bright himself while giving an interview to Ghana’s one of the leading websites, has said that he would be continuing with the same Ghanaian team in the coming season.

East Bengal however won 2-0 in a preparatory match on Saturday where both the goals were struck by Ranti Martins and Do Dong Hyun, respectively. And East Bengal coach Biswajit Bhattacharya was elated to have watched perfect understanding between Hyun and martins for the first time in a match. Bhattacharya said, “I am not happy only due to the goals my strikers scored. Rather I am satisfied more after having watched a proper understanding between the team’s two most important foreigners. Before our I-League opener it has been a good sign.”
