Valencia eye star Chelsea winger amid Mustafi exit

According to Daily Mirror, Valencia are playing hardball over Shkodran Mustafi’s transfer as they are looking to raise the funds to sign Chelsea winger Pedro.

The Spanish club have reportedly asked Arsenal to pay a massive £50million for the defender as Arsenal are very much interested in landing the German defender despite the price.

Valencia wants to use the money they acquire from Mustafi’s transfer to buy out-of-favour Chelsea winger Pedro, the report suggested.

The Spanish winger have had a hard time at Chelsea since his move to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last season. He has failed to make an impact at the club as Chelsea finished at 10th in the league last season.

The 29-year old could not break into the first team as Brazilian Willian is in fine form for the Blues as he is the top option in the starting lineup to play at the right wing position. Meanwhile, Eden Hazard has returned to his best form after a struggling season last season.

This has meant that the Spaniard is going to have a limited number of opportunities to prove his worth under new manager Antonio Conte. The Blues are also reportedly considering a swoop for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez which means that the Spaniard needs to find a new club before the transfer window shuts.

Valencia are keen to rope in the Spanish international as they look to improve their performance last season and get back into European football next season.
