One Arsenal supporter looks like has tried to start a transfer negotiation but it was quickly shut down by Borussia Dortmund’s current hottest transfer property Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
You can say it’s official: Aubameyang will not make a move to Arsenal but that’s not serious exclusive news. The Gabonese striker last week also revealed after winning the African Player of the Year Award that he is not thinking about a move. Once again committing his future to Borussia Dortmund he might have decided to put rumours of a January transfer to bed finally.
As you can see in the video, a rogue Arsenal supporter desperately tried to have one last go tempting Aubameyang to join the Gunners. It’s obvious that transfer negotiations are generally very complicated business with behind-the-scene wrangling, secret approaches, legal contracts and good personal terms, this lad from nowhere has thrown away all that nonsense and had the guts to ask the in-form lethal striker directly: “Are you coming to Arsenal?”
The answer was a straightforward one – “No” with an awkward laughter from Aubameyang.
There were rumours all over the press last week that Arsenal have made a huge 60 million euro bid for the Borussia Dortmund striker. Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United were also in the race to sign the 26-year-old Gabon international who has 16 Bundesliga goals this season. Aubameyang is capable of playing wide or up front and will be a valuable asset for the Gunners in the second half of the season and would add firepower to their injury struck line-up. The prolific striker’s current contract with Dortmund doesn’t end until 2020.
Considering the fact that transfers are almost impossibly concluded by a rogue teenager asking a professional footballer to join his favourite club, we are not so sure what response the kid was expecting. But it was a brave attempt certainly.
