Aaron Ramsey’s first half goal was enough to stretch Arsenal’s winning run in the league to 8 matches and cut the gap at the top at Chelsea to just 4 points. Ramsey scored the only goal of the match on 12’ minute mark.

Ramsey’s goal was somewhat fortuitous as Alexis Sanchez’s shot fell kindly at the Welshman’s feet but the finish deserved the goal.

Arsenal are expected to score 2-3 goals every time they go out to play these days but this was an almost un-Arsenal kind of a win.

Arsene Wenger was pleased with his side grinding a win in a tough away game instead of trying to play the beautiful football and scoring the near-perfect goals.

Arsenal’s win today has put a halt on Chelsea’s victory lap for now, Jose Mourinho’s men can only be thrown a realistic challenge at the moment by Arsenal and Ramsey’s goal today has put just an extra pressure on Chelsea to go out and win their game against QPR tomorrow.
