Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that people like Sepp Blatter and the heads of other big international sporting federations, or the Olympic Games, deserve special recognition like The Nobel Prize.
The current FIFA President Sepp Blatter will step down from his position by February 2016 was amid huge controversies relating to FIFA’s corruption scandal. He was one of the prime accuses though not directly had informed the world last month that he would resign from his post and fresh elections will be conducted in February 2016.
Speaking about Putin was quoted by Swiss media: “People like Mr Blatter or the heads of big international sporting federations, or the Olympic Games, deserve special recognition,” said Putin.
“If there is anyone who deserves the Nobel Prize, it’s those people.”
The Russian President further added that he believes in Blatter and will not agree to any of the allegations which are being associated with the FIFA chief.
He said: “We all know the situation developing around Mr Blatter right now. I don’t want to go into details but I don’t believe a word about him being involved in corruption personally.”
Sepp Blatter himself had mentioned few days back that he has a ‘clear conscience’ and will serve the governing body until the emegency elections happen in February.
Vladimir Putin always shared a good rapport with Blatter and he had once again proved that by giving the above statement.
