Antonio Conte’s Chelsea prevailed a crunch tie against FA Cup holders Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the competition at the Stamford Bridge on Monday.,
United, who are unbeaten since the turn of the year, were expected to go head to head with the Blues who are at the top of the table in the Premier League but they were just not able to create enough chances on the night to have a shot at moving into the next round.
The Red Devils started the game in fine fashion, troubling the Chelsea defence constantly but Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera was sent off with almost an hour to play for an accumulation of fouls on Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
The Belgian playmaker was in the mood on the night at the Bridge as he toyed with the United defenders but the visitors were in no mood to take him on and decided to use a physical approach.
However, it went a bit too far and referee Michael Oliver was left with no other choice but to suspend Herrera after he bought Hazard down just second after being warned.
This red card saw Mourinho’s face glow with a grin as he felt hard done by the FA yet again.
The whole game saw tempers fuming all around the ground as Mourinho and Conte were also involved in a clash on the touchline, which needed the fourth official to intervene.
The Manchester United manager was constantly frustrated by the chants from the home side.
The Chelsea fans were signing: Judas”, “You’re not special anymore” and “It’s all your fault” in reference to his last stint at the Stamford Bridge and though the Portuguese replied showing them three fingers, the number of league titles he gave them, he was growing frustrated as the match went by.
So it does not come as a surprise that he was caught doing something naughty.
Mourinho, who does not have a great relationship with the current Chelsea manager was seen trying to kick a dead ball towards Antonio Conte.

Mourinho missed, like many of his United players on the night but it is a gesture that can land him in trouble.
The Red Devils might also loose Marcos Rojo for the next 5 domestic games after the defender was seen stamping Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard during this game.
So having crashed out of the competition and also losing a few players, it was just not a day to remember for the Manchester United fans.
Do you think Mourinho deliberately kicked the ball towards Conte?
