Thierry Henry produced a moment of magic for Gerrard XI as they faced Carragher XI in a charity match hosted by Steven Gerrard at Anfield. After the game, Thierry Henry hailed Liverpool fans for their support and labelled them as “amazing”.

He told liverpoolfc.com: “I’ve said so many times these fans are amazing. This was the first time I was allowed to be able to watch them sing You’ll Never Walk Alone and enjoy it.
“This crowd have won so many points for this team and football club.”
The French World Cup winner was also critical of his fellow Sky Sports pundit who conceded a penalty in the game.
Henry joked : “It was shocking defending” before saying about the former Reds defender: “He loves to defend. He was defending like a lion.”
