Welcome Update: Arsenal Receive Huge Boost, World Class Attacker Open to January Move

Reports in the Sun suggest that with Arsenal in fine form, the Gunners will look to bolster their squad further in the January transfer window, with Wenger believed to be interested in signing Roma and Serie A star Leandro Paredes to help boost their title winning chances.

Paredes, aged 22, has featured 16 times already this campaign and has been in fine form for Roma this season since his return to the club following a season-long loan spell at Florence-based Empoli last season.

It’s believed the 22-year-old’s fine performances have caught the eye of Arsene Wenger and with the former Boca Juniors midfielder tipped as one of Serie A and Argentina’s brightest prospects, it is claimed Wenger reckons Paredes would provide good competition for places in the heart of Arsenal’s midfield.

According to the tabloid, Wenger wants some younger talent for his squad to push the more senior members of the midfield and the Frenchman has already been in touch with Paredes’ representatives in an attempt to sound out a move to London for the midfielder.

With Arsenal already possessing an abundance of midfielders, such as Santi Cazorla, Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Mesut Ozil, Mohammad Elneny, the signing of deep lying playmaker Parades would surely spell the end of Jack Wilshere’s career at the Emirates.

With Wilshere having struggled for game time at the Emirates due to persistent injuries, the 24-year-old midfielder looked to rejuvenate his career and get some regular first-team football under his belt, with a deadline day move to fellow Premier League side Bournemouth.

Since making the move to the South Coast, the England international, capped 34 times internationally, has made 8 appearances for Bournemouth and reclaimed his place in the England squad under Gareth Southgate, and has recently received encouragement by his current manager Eddie Howe, who praised the 24 year old’s work ethic since arriving at the club.

Despite appearing to have rejuvenated his career, the potential arrival of Parades, may force Wilshere to make a permanent move away from the Emirates.
