Barcelona forward Pedro is keen on leaving Barcelona next summer and sources close to the player believe that the World Cup winner has already made up his mind of joining Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window.
Arsenal have been handed a massive boost in their pursue of signing the Barcelona forward. Arsene Wenger has been a great admirer of the player and has sent scouts to watch him play on several occasions in the past.
Pedro has just started 12 games out of the 26 appearances he has made for the Catalan side. Pedro has found himself way back in the packing order behind Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
In an interview given in the Spanish media, it is understood that Pedro has made up his mind to leave Barcelona next summer. Pedro said: “I have had few opportunities this season but I have to wait and when they do come, take advantage of them.
“I’m going through a difficult moment in the team. I’ll evaluate my future at the end of the season and I’ll speak to the club.”
Pedro will be made available at a cut-price deal since he is under contract till 2016 and Barcelona can not afford to lose him on a free transfer. Pedro’s agent has highlighted Barcelona’s ban being the decisive factor in Pedro’s transfer next season.
Spanish media have claimed that Arsenal have been “honing in” on Pedro and are in the clear to sign the Spanish star next summer. Pedro’s signing could brig the curtains down on Lukas Podolski’s and Theo Walcott’s career at Arsenal.
