Manchester City’s talismanic midfielder Yaya Toure has revealed his plans about career and his future with the Cityzens. He said that he wants to stay at Manchester City until the end of his contract. Toure further claimed that he has the capability to play until 40 years.
Yaya Toure’s transfer has been a great matter of speculation among the media since last season. It all started when his agent had claimed last season that the club did not wish him for his birthday and did not even remember his special day. The rumours fell of after the season began and the Ivorian had an average season with the club.
This time again his agent claimed that Toure’s departure was ‘90%’ confirmed. Inter Milan were strongly linked but the club did not agree to sell him. Now the midfielder himself has commited his future to the club and said: “There was too much speculation about me leaving – it’s clear that I have my contract at City and I want to see out my contract.
“I am happy to stay at the club. I want to get to the end of my contract.”
Yaya Toure, 32, has two years remaining on his current deal and says he can see himself extending his playing career for another eight years.
Toure added:“I’ve always known for 32 years that I can play until 40 because I know my quality and that’s all.
“The Blues have brought in Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph for a combined £52m this summer.
“And Toure is enthused by the arrivals as the Blues prepare to try to win back the Premier League crown from Chelsea.
“We’ve signed some great players this year in Sterling and Delph,” he said. “We welcome them and we hope they will give us a massive boost.
“We need to bounce back this year and to support our fans – they have supported us for long years and we want to make them proud.”
