Abdul Razzaq Believes ‘Fantastic’ Virat Kohli is Lucky to Have BCCI’s Full Support

The former all-rounder of Pakistan, Abdul Razzaq had praised the India skipper Virat Kohli for being a successful cricketer. He termed the Indian bloke as a “fantastic player” for his terrific records across the three formats of cricket. However, Razzaq also said that Kohli is “lucky” to have full support from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The ex-pacer of Pakistan said that there is no doubt in Kohli’s talent and his gameplay but the confidence and support he receives from the Indian cricket board is what boosts his morale.

“He (Virat Kohli) is a fantastic player and there is no doubt about it. However, he is lucky as the BCCI supports him well and instills the confidence in him that any player needs to succeed,” PakPassion.net quoted Razzaq as saying.

The Team India skipper is currently the top-ranked batsman in the cricketing world while he is on his way to be the best leader for his team. Although he is yet to claim any ICC title, he has led the team back to their dominant self in the last one year. India is at the top of the table in the Test cricket rankings while the team ranks second and fifth in the ODI and T20I respectively.

Razzaq believes Pakistan has players who could better Virat Kohli:

Also, Razzaq asserted that Kohli receives full support from BCCI and that pushes him to do far better.

“The respect he gets from his board is what probably inspires him to do well all the time and the results are there for all to see,” he said.

Speaking further, Razzaq said that even Pakistan has ample talent in cricket but the lack of confidence and support shown by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not given them the needed opportunity. The ex-right-handed cricketer believes that Pakistan has players who could surpass Kohli if given the chance.

Razzaq expressed his disappointment with the Pakistan board for neglecting the capabilities of the young Pakistan cricketers.

“I do believe that even in Pakistan we have players who could become better than Virat Kohli, but they are neglected by our system which is a tragedy. In Kohli’s case, he has taken that confidence shown in him by the board and using his talent, repaid them with his performances,” the former Pakistan all-rounder said.

Meanwhile, after having the glorious home assignments, Kohli is leading his team in New Zealand for a full-fledged cricket schedule.

The Men in Blue begin their tour from January 24 with five-match T20I series which will be followed by a three-match ODI series.

The tour will have India’s first away Test series for the World Test Championship. The month-long tour will end on March 4.
