Chelsea are exploring their option to sign Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa. The Blues have their star left wing-back Ben Chilwell out injured for the rest of the season and looking for multiple options to cover Marcos Alonso. But Chelsea are hesitant on spending big on left-back as Chilwell cost them £50 million last season and now looking for a temporary solution before transfer windows get close at the end of this month.

The 29-year-old French full-back has been completely off the first team since the arrival of manager Mauricio Pochettino at Le Parc des Princes. New summer signing Nuno Mendes and Juan Bernat are the first-choice left-back options for the Pochettino this season. Even versatile centre-backs Thilo Kelher and Prisnel Kimpenbe played in left-back position ahead of Kurzawa this season.

Kurzawa arrived at PSG from rivals AS Monaco in 2015 but has made just 105 league appearances so far and no Ligue 1 appearances at all this season. French giants comfortably sit at top of the league table with 11 points lead to 2nd place Nice. And they are now willing to offload fringe players this month and value Kurzawa at £7 million.

PSG Offered Kurzawa To Chelsea But The Blues Want Isamel Gharbi:

Chelsea are interested in another PSG player Ismael Ghabri who broke into the first-team this season but has only six months remaining on his contract. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has made three cup appearances for the French giants this season and is highly rated by PSG backroom staff. According to a report from the Mirror, Chelsea are tracking the player’s contract situation this month and looking to tie down him with a pre-agreement contract.

According to a report from RMC Sport, PSG have offered Kurzawa to Chelsea for a minimal fee of £7 million. They are aware of Chelsea’s separation to sign a new left-back this month and willing to negotiate a fee as well. Kurzawa was a regular performer under current Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel during his tint with PSG.

So this deal is very likely to happen if Tuchel fails to lang other left-back targets this month. Chelsea failed to secure Lucas Digne who joined Aston Villa,  AC Milan star Theo Hernandez also rejected Chelsea’s approach last week and the Blues failed to recall Emerson back from loan who is enjoying regular first-team football at Lyons. Chelsea are also recently linked with Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic who has just six months left on his contract at San Siro.

Chelsea lost their latest league fixture against Manchester City by 1-0 and now sit in 3rd position in the Premier League table with 43 points from the opening 22 matches, 13 points behind the Citizens, so title race is off the target for the Blues this season as well.
