This is a part of a series of articles where we shall talk about some of the former World Wrestling Entertainment divas who were released (or maybe appeared WWE but couldn’t succeed) by WWE and they joined TNA after that. WWE made so many mistakes in the recent days. We have already shared an article on Serena Deeb who could be the next big thing. Just like Serena Deeb, many other talented female wrestlers were released from WWE for very poor reasons. Most of them joined TNA after they were released from WWE. In this series, we shall discuss about the career of those female wrestlers, were they more successful in WWE? Or are they more successful in Total Nonstop Action? In this part of the series of articles, we shall discuss about the career of Mickie Laree James who worked as Mickie James in WWE and currently works under the same name in TNA. Mickie Laree James made her professional wrestling debut on 1999. She worked on the independent circuit for four years. She worked in Ring of Honor and had a small career in TNA under the name Alexis Laree in the year 2003. On the same year, she impressed WWE and booked her place in Ohio Valley Wrestling and she kept working under the name Alexis Laree. Laree debuted to WWE on October 10, 2005 using her real name, Mickie James. She played the role of the biggest fan of Trish Stratus. Later, she played a psycho gimmick (her psycho gimmick was pretty similar to the current gimmick of AJ Lee, just saying though). She debuted as a baby face but turned heel as soon as she started playing her psycho gimmick. Mickie James turned on Trish Stratus in the event of Saturday night’s main event 2006. She defeated Trish Stratus to win her first Women’s championship gold. She had been very successful in WWE. She played both face and heel gimmicks successfully. In her five years WWE career, she won five women’s championships and one divas championship. She was released by WWE on April 22, 2010. According to James, WWE explained the decision as due to desiring to move in a new direction with their women’s division. She returned to independent circuit after she was released by WWE. On September 22, 2010, she debuted to Total Nonstop Action. She won her first TNA knockout’s championship title on April 17, 2011 by defeating Madison Rayne. She had 112 days of reign as she was beaten by Winter and lost the title. After eighteen days, she won it back. But she lost the title to Winter again after a reign of only seventeen days. She had been sidelined from the championship and after two years, she won her third knockouts championship as she defeated Velvet Sky on May 23, 2013. She is the current knockouts champion and going through a superb heel run. So what do you guys think which platform brings or brought Mickie james more success? We think, she was more successful in WWE. She had six championship runs under WWE when she could manage three championship runs in TNA. However, her career has a long way to go and we believe she has a great future in TNA. It was a very poor decision from WWE to release a talented wrestler like Mickie James.
