Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been reprimanded as he was seen slapping his Lahore Qalandars team-mate Kamran Ghulam in a Pakistan Super League match. The incident happened on Monday in a match against Peshawar Zalmi after Ghulam dropped a catch off Rauf’s bowling

A source in Pakistan Cricket Board revealed that match referee Ali Naqvi only reprimanded Rauf since neither of the two umpires had reported the incident.

Haris Rauf picked 13 wickets in 11 matches with an economy of 9.27 in PSL 2022

However, it didn’t sit well with the former Pakistan players as they thought the 28-year crossed the line. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said that it shouldn’t have happened and he also warned him if he repeats this in the future, it might lead him in big trouble.

“I don’t think it was an incident that should have happened in a match with the world watching, it doesn’t leave a good impression even if Haris didn’t mean it,” Shahid Afridi said.

“I hope Haris learns from this incident because it was in bad taste and in future if he repeats it he will be in big trouble,” he added

The incident created a big storm on social media as lots of fans called Haris Rauf out for his action. Rauf had already represented Pakistan in 8 ODIs and 34 T20Is.

In this edition of PSL, Haris Rauf had a mixed season. He picked 13 wickets in 11 matches but also conceded with an economy of 9.27. His team lost the first qualifier against Multan Sultans on Wednesday. They will get another chance on Friday in the second qualifier.

In the league stage, Lahore Qalandars finished at no.2 in the points table with 12 points while Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans was head and shoulders above the test with 18 points in 10 matches. The final of the Pakistan Super League will be played on February 27 in Lahore.
