The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction is all set to take place on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. And it has also been confirmed that the process will begin at 11 AM on both days.

“The #TATAIPLAuction 2022 is almost here, where your favourite teams’ future will be decided! This is where their road to success shall begin. Catch every move from the mega auction: Feb 12-13, 11 AM onwards,” tweeted by the official IPL handle.

Notable that the IPL 2022 will be a 10-team affair as the new two franchises in form of Lucknow and Ahmedabad have been inducted into the tournament.

The original 8 teams were given the choice of retaining a maximum of 4 players while the two new franchises were given permission to sign a maximum of 3 players ahead of the auction.

The Lucknow Super Giants have picked KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi as their three draft picks while the Ahmedabad franchise signed Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill.

A total of 590 players will go under the hammer in the IPL auction

As far as the salary cap is concerned, 5-time champions Mumbai Indians will go with a purse of ₹48 Crores as they retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, and Suryakumar Yadav. Chennai Super Kings will also go with the same amount in the auction as their 4 retained players are MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali. Delhi Capitals will go with a purse of 47.5 crores with Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, and Anrich Nortje.

Punjab Kings retained only two players in form of Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh as they will go with the highest purse of ₹72 Crores. Royal Challengers Bangalore held Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj back as they have ₹57 crores left. Rajasthan Royals retained Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal and they have ₹62 Crores left in their kitty.

Sunrisers retained two uncapped players in form of Abdul Samad and Umran Malik along with their captain Kane Williamson and they have 68 crores left in their purse.

Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises have ₹59 and 52 Crores left in their purse respectively.
