The oldest Tennis tournament is all set to begin on 29th of June and the draw for  Wimbledon was out earlier today.  The defending champion Novak Djokovic seems to have a fairly smoother draw and he starts his title defence against Phillip Kohlschreiber in the first round. While Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray seemed to have a little tougher draw compared to the defending champion and things could get tricky for them during their campaign.  Let’s analyse the possible path for big four in the tournament.

Rafael Nadal:

Rafael Nadal’s progress in grass has not been great in the past few years and he struggled big time during the earlier rounds of the tournament. The last time Nadal made an appearance in Wimbledon was back in 2011 where he lost to Djokovic. Since then it has been tough going for the Spaniard in grass. Things got pretty bad for him this year as he is seeded no 10 in the tournament and has a possibility of facing big guns earlier. Nadal starts his campaign in the first round against the Brazilian Thomas Bellucci and has the possibility of facing his countrymen David Ferrer in the 4th round and probably meet Andy Murray in the quarters. With such a tough draw its one hell of a task for the Spaniard to go through. However, Nadal’s preparations for the grass season has been good as he won the title in Stuttgart. Nadal being rated as the least favourite to win the tournament might spring in a surprise and can go all the way in the tournament. Even though the chances are very grim for Nadal to win the title, one thing is certain, you can’t write off the two time champion as easily just yet.

Roger Federer:

The seven time champion has been seeded no 2 in the tournament and has been looking in great shape this year who is looking for his 8th Wimbledon title this year. Roger has been chasing a grandslam title for sometime now and this could certainly be his cup of tea. Roger missed a great chance last year by falling to Novak Djokovic in 5 sets and roger expressed his desire recently stating “that’s the tournament where I need to play my best”.  Roger Federer will kick start his campaign by facing Damir Dzumhur  in the first round with a possible second round clash against Sam Querrey. He might face jack sock in he third round and Lopez in a possible fourth round clash. Roger could set up a quarter final clash against Berdych where the match could end in either way. The most anticipated clash is however between Nadal and Federer since it’s a long time these two met in a Grandslam. If Nadal manages to go through semi-finals we could possibly witness a Federer-Nadal clash once again. With the form Roger is in he will surely give his best shot for the title this year.

Andy Murray:

Andy Murray is regarded as one of the hot favourite to win the title along with Novak Djokovic this year. Andy Murray has reached the quarter finals of all the tournaments he played this year and has been in fantastic form in 2015 after having a bad 2014. Andy Murray has been seeded no 3 in the tournament and will face Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round. Murray has the possibility of facing either Robin Hasse or Alejandro Falla in the second round. Murray might face Andreas Seppi in the third round and Tsonga in the fourth round which could be a little tricky for Murray but still he would be  the man to go through. Mostly, he has the possibility of facing Nadal as early in the quarter finals and possibly he would be regarded as the favourite to go through with the bad form Nadal has been in for sometime now. Home support too plays a huge factor for Andy Murray who stand beside him as a huge pillar of support which keeps him going. High percentage of chance for Murray to give a shot at the title.

Novak Djokovic:

The defending champion Novak Djokovic is at the peak of his career. Novak Djokovic  is the heavy favourite in this year’s Wimbledon to win the title. The two time champion has suffered only three loses in the 2015 season and has the world in his feet at the moment. However he couldn’t win the Roland Garros which he needed the most and came the second best in the Final with Wawrinka winning the title. However, Djokovic  will be fresh and raring to go in the Wimbledon and he will start his title defence against Philip Kohlschreiber in the first round. He might face Lleyton Hewitt or Jarkko Nieminen in the second round with a possible third round clash against Bernard Tomic and fourth round clash against Kevin Anderson. Djokovic might face Kei Nishikori in the quarter finals who beat him the last time they met in a grandslam at us open. Djokovic  would still be the man to get through that and might have the chance of facing Stan Wawrinka yet again which could prove to be a toughest hurdle for the world no 1 to get through. But Djokovic has the highest possibility among the big four to reach the finals yet again and to lift the trophy for the third time.

As mentioned earlier, Murray and Djokovic would be the heavy  favourites to win the title, Roger will be the dark horse who will be chasing his record 8th Wimbledon title and for Nadal the chances are very low at the moment to be precise. A lots to look forward in the Wimbledon this year.
