India all-rounder Deepak Chahar is quite elated as he was picked back by his former franchise Chennai Super Kings at a whopping price of 14 Crores. Chahar has been part of Chennai Super Kings since they made a return after a two-year suspension. He played a crucial part when CSK won the title twice in 2018 and 2021.
On the first day of the mega auction, there was a bidding war between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for Deepak Chahar eventually, the yellow army won but they had to pay a huge amount for that.

“Really happy to be back in CSK and thank you so much Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) and management for showing faith in me. I couldn’t imagine playing for another team. I only wanted to play for CSK,” Deepak Chahar said in a video posted by CSK on Twitter.
Deepak Chahar made his IPL debut for Rising Pune Super Giants. Since 2018, he has been an integral part of CSK. In 4 seasons, he played 58 matches for the yellow army and picked 58 wickets with an economy of 7.70.

In the past year or so, Chahar made giant strides with his performance for India. Especially with the bat, he slowly presented himself as a potential all-rounder for any team. He single-handedly won a match for India last year with a knock of unbeaten 69. The next time he got a chance to play a dead rubber in the ODI series against South Africa last month and again he played a blinder of a knock 54(34) and almost took the team from nowhere. A couple of days back he again scored 38(38) against West Indies.
And it’s not just with the bat, he is taking wickets consistently as well. In 7 matches he picked 10 wickets as well though the economy of 6.01 is slightly on the higher side.
In T20Is, he holds the record of the second-best figures in this format as he picked 6/7 against Bangladesh at Nagpur 2019. Overall he picked 23 wickets in 17 matches with an economy of 8.10.
