Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar opined that Virat Kohli is not struggling with his form though he needs some luck to score that much-awaited hundred.
Kohli struggled for runs in the ODI series against West Indies. In the 3-match series, he scored just 26 runs. On Friday he was strangled down the leg side on a duck. In the second ODI, West Indies tested him with short balls and was caught behind against Odean Smith.

Kohli scored two fifties in 3-match ODI series in South Africa but his much-awaited hundred is not coming. Gavaskar said that he needs some luck to turn things around.
“Luck (What is Kohli missing?). Every batter needs a bit of luck. Every batter needs a situation where he plays and misses an edge. Every batter needs a situation where he edges the ball and the catch is dropped or the ball falls short of the fielder. He hasn’t quite had the best of luck in the last so many matches. Don’t forget, he got the fifties in South Africa,” Sunil Gavaskar spoke to Star Sports.

On the other side, former West Indies speedster Ian Bishop said that West Indies pacers bowled well against Kohli. He gave the example of the second ODI when he was set up by short balls and was eventually caught off a fuller ball.
“I thought they (West Indies pacers) bowled well to Virat Kohli. They did not overdo the short-ball bit. Odean Smith set it up wonderfully, the way he pushed Kohli back and then got a fuller delivery,” Ian Bishop said.
“Kohli looked to set himself up for a big one and then he got that one after being pushed back. Smith bowled it in that lovely area, inviting a drive but not fullish enough to play the shot. I thought that was good bowling,” he added.
In ODIs Kohli hasn’t scored a hundred since August 2019. However, he scored 10 fifties in the meantime in 21 ODIs.
