South Africa batter Keegan Petersen said that he wouldn’t like to add any comments on Rassie Van der Dussen’s dismissal as the umpire’s decision is final and his opinion won’t make any difference.

On the second day of the Johannesburg test, Rassie Van der Dussen was given caught behind off the bowling of Shardul Thakur and the lunch was taken immediately after the dismissal. However, the replays suggested that the ball bounced just before Pant caught it behind the stumps. Umpires could have reverted their call if they would want but they didn’t.

“I don’t really want to comment on that. That’s the umpire’s decision. I think we’re in the game and we just have to take the decisions, no matter what we think. Some are going to go your way, some aren’t,” said Petersen in the post day press-conference.

South Africa took a lead of 27 runs in the first innings as India restricted them to 229 with the help of the terrific spell of Shardul Thakur (7/61)

“I think it’s going to be tough for the rest of the test match and pitch is definitely not getting better. We haven’t put a number to it yet but the more runs India get, the more difficult is going to be for us to get,” said Petersen.

“It’s a difficult bowling attack to come up against. So realistically I’d say anything under 200 would be a good total to chase. But the more they get, the further away it gets for us,” he added.

India lost both the openers quickly while they wipe out the lead quickly. However, Pujara and Rahane added some quick runs at the close of the second day’s play.

India is currently leading the series by 1-0 as the visitors won the first Test at Centurion by 113 runs. Notable that India never won a Test series in South Africa and they would be sensing a big opportunity despite the absence of their regular skipper Virat who was ruled out of this test due to upper back spasm. KL Rahul is leading India in his absence.
