India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said that he wouldn’t want to make any further comment on the DRS controversy that happened in the last session of the third day. Mhambrey opined that everyone saw what transpired in that middle and he would like to leave it there.

In the 21st over of South Africa’s second innings, South African skipper Dean Elgar was adjudged LBW against the bowling of Ashwin but as reviewed the decision, the ball tracker projection left everyone in disbelief as it showed going over the stumps. Umpire Marais Erasmus himself was seen saying, “That’s impossible.” The decision left Virat Kohli fuming as he kicked the ground in anger. Ashwin came towards stump mic and said, “You’ve got to find better ways to win, SuperSport.”

“Emotions do come into play sometimes”- Paras Mhambrey

Then there was a series of comments from Indian players through stump mic as KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal added a few comments as well. Notable that in the first test at Centurion, India team management felt hard done by the LBW given against Mayank Agarwal in the first innings.

Though bowling coach didn’t want to add anything to it in post day press conference.

“We saw it, you saw it. I’ll leave that to the match referee to have a look at it. There’s nothing else that I can do or can comment on there. We’ve seen it all, just want to move on with the game now,” Mhambrey said.

He also denied if emotions got the better of Indian players as they conceded a flurry of runs after that incident. Chasing the target of 212, The hosts finished the day with a score of 101/2.

“No, I don’t think so. See, every individual out here is trying his best, and sometimes in a moment like this people do say certain things. It’s a game. I think it’s fair if we just move on and let’s not take it further. It just happens. [When] everyone is trying their best, emotions do come into play sometimes but let’s sit back and think how we are going to go about tomorrow,” he opined.

The bowling coach also doesn’t see anything wrong in Indian captain’s as he was quite vocal throughout the day, more so after that DRS controversy. Mhambrey said that the captain’s energy rubs to other players as well so he is quite happy to see that.

“He’s quite lively, that’s the way he likes to play his cricket and that rubs onto the others. And that’s what you want from a captain, right? You want the energy, you want everyone out there getting involved. I am happy to see that really,” he said.

On the fourth day, South Africa will need another 111 runs as they had another 8 wickets remaining in their kitty.
