Former WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin who is also the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match of 2017 recently said that wrestlers like Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano, and AJ Styles gave people false hope and also claimed that he was a better athlete than all of them.
Baron Corbin is playing the Happy Corbin gimmick since last year and he is doing it quite well. He went through a brief gimmick change last year. He was struck by poverty at a point of last year and he kept on asking for help from everyone and because of his bad reputation, nobody was ready to help him.
Baron Corbin Claims He Is A Better Athlete Than Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano, And AJ Styles
This gimmick was likes by the fans and most of the fans praised it. But then WWE decided to change his gimmick once again and made him Happy Corbin. He won a lot of money in the casinos and he was now happy. He is still carrying this gimmick and it looks like he would be carrying this gimmick only from now on.
Fans did not like this gimmick as much as the previous one and a lot of fans requested WWE to give back the previous gimmick. But it had been reported that the gaming was invented by Vince McMahon so there is no chance of getting rid of it so soon. But Corbin is doing quite good in this gimmick. He is a natural heel, he is perfect in playing anything that is evil.
Recently he had a feud with his former tag team partner Madcap Moss where he did a very impressive job to put him over. It does not look like he would ever be pushed as a main event star but he will definitely be remembered as a WWE legend. Right now he is working with WWE Hall of Famer JBL.
Baron Corbin who is also the winner of the Money in the Bank ladder match of 2017 recently spoke on WWE’s The Bump where he said that wrestlers like Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano, and AJ Styles gave people false hope and also claimed that he was a better athlete than all of them. He said;
“These guys come in and that’s part of their story. They’re giving hope to hope to people who sit in the audience and go, ‘Ah, I wanna be Johnny Gargano.’ How many little kids see that? Because they have no hope, they have no goals, they have no dreams, and they wanna see a guy like that and they go, ‘Oh, man, if this little guy or Kevin Owens, this guy, I relate to him. We’re similar, we do the same things, we like the same things. I can become a WWE Superstar.’
“No, you can’t. Look, this job is not for everybody. My mailman is a nice guy. This job is not for him. This is for elite level athletes, world renowned competitors, and guys when you walk into a room, they look at somebody like me and they go, ‘That guy is somebody.’
“If they’ve never watched WWE before, they go, man, look at that watch, look at the diamonds that he’s wearing, look at that suit. That guy is somebody important, whether they’ve seen me or not. You walk into a room with Johnny, with Kevin, with AJ Styles, and you’re just like, oh man, there’s some people in the room hanging out. I saw 500 guys like that at the mall today. There’s a difference.”
