Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman and former WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion Shane McMahon are seen feuding each other for a couple of weeks in Monday Night Raw. The two individuals were scheduled to face each other at the next WWE pay-per-view Event WWE Fastlanebut it has been pulled out. It is also that WWE has kept this feud safe for WrestleMania 37.
But would this match be any good for the biggest event of professional wrestling?
Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 37?
We have seen Shane McMahon in some of the most entertaining matches in the past. His match against Steve Blackman from Summerslam 2000 is considered as one of the greatest Hardcore championship matches of all time. He has also produced great matches against individuals like Kane, The Rock, Vince McMahon, AJ Styles, and The Undertaker. When Shane McMahon faced the Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 in a Hell in a Cell match a lot of questions were raised by the pundits because he was out of wrestling for such a long time. But he proved all the critics wrong after providing one of the best matches of the night.
But how good would it be for Braun Strowman to face Shane McMahon at this stage of his career? When he first appeared in WWE everybody knew he is Vince McMahon’s next big thing. Since his arrival in the company, he has been portrayed as an unstoppable force. Anyone who gets in the ring with him either gets destroyed or gets beaten. Just to build him as such a force WWE has humiliated a lot of wrestlers on several occasions. For example, AJ Style’s elimination at the Royal Rumble match.
But looking at all those stats, he did not achieve much in the WWE. He has been given only two individual title runs. One of them being the WWE Universal title run and the other one was a WWE Intercontinental championship run, And apart from title runs, he did not get any good feuds lately.
At this stage of his career, Shane McMahon can never be a justified opponent for someone like Braun Strowman in an event like WrestleMania. Whatever he does, it will not be good for his profile. If they give an entertaining match where both athletes fight well, that would make all the wrestlers who were humiliated by him previously look like undercards. And even if Braun Strowman manages to beat Shane McMahon in a squash match that would not be a big boost for him either because Shane McMahon is a fifty-one-year-old man who is already past his prime.
So we are hoping to see him get a better booking and a better opponent than Shane McMahon for WrestleMania 37. That would definitely boost his career status.
