WWE will create history tomorrow by staging a women’s match in Riyadh. Veteran superstar Natalya will take on Lacey Evans in a one-on-one match at WWE Crown Jewel. The country’s rules do not allow women to participate in these matches but WWE has been given a green signal to stage this match.
Apart from Natalya and Evans, WWE had also flown in Lana but she will not be participating. Although the match between the two superstars comes as a surprise as just a couple of weeks back, they had teamed up against The Kabuki Warriors. They did take on each other in a number of matches but their storyline seemed to end when they teamed up.
WWE has been trying to stage women’s match in Saudi Arabia for long. Earlier this year, WWE was hopeful that women superstars would be allowed to take part in a match – Alexa Bliss and Natalya flew to Saudi Arabia but the match did not take place.
Tomorrow’s tie between Natalya and Evans will surely pave way for more women’s match in Saudi Arabia and other top superstars like Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey might also perform there in future.
Meanwhile, WWE Crown Jewel takes place tomorrow at the King Fahd International Stadium. Brock Lesnar’s match against Cain Velasquez might be the main event of the show. The WWE champion will be defending his title against the man who defeated him at UFC 121 back in 2010.
Apart from Velasquez, Tyson Fury will also make his WWE debut as he will face Monster Among Men Braun Strowman. Unlike Velasquez, Fury hasn’t signed a contract with WWE and might not perform in WWE ring regularly.
Team Hogan vs Team Flair is another big contest that will highlight the show. Roman Reigns will lea leading Team Hogan while Randy Orton will lead Team Flair.
For the second time, Seth Rollins will defend his Universal title against “The Fiend” Bray Wyat. The tie will be a Falls Count Anywhere match and referee cannot stop it until a result is computed.
