Massive Showdown In The Queue? Former WWE Superstar Calls Out Goldberg for a High-Stakes Battle

WWE Legend and Hall of Famer Goldberg is in talks with Tony Khan for a potential dream move to AEW. Khan recently admitted that he was trying his best to bring the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion to his promotion. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Former WWE star Ryback recently shocked the entire world when he issued a challenge to Goldberg, “I will be cleared this summer to officially return to wrestling. I challenge @Goldberg in my return to a Retirement Match. #Ryback™️ #Hungry #FeedMeMore”” he wrote on his Twitter recently.

Ryback was a familiar face in WWE in the 2012 to 2015. Vince McMahon had big plans for this big man and he even featured on some big matches. He also had been a former WWE Intercontinental Champion. He shared ring with some of the biggest names of WWE including the likes of John Cena and CM Punk.

However, Ryback was often compared to WWE legend Goldberg regarding the similarities in their gimmicks and wrestling style. While Working in WWE, Ryback was asked to talk about the legend where his words were not too kind about the former World Champion. During an interview with WWE Magazine in 2012, Ryback said;

“People see a big guy with a shaved head who’s intense, and they draw those comparisons.” Ryback continued, “I will say this: Goldberg did this for the money. He was never a fan of wrestling. I do this because I have a passion for it, and that’s the biggest difference between Goldberg and me. I’m not here to make five million dollars and then walk away. I’m here for life.

“And I firmly believe that I’m much better than he was in the ring.  I feel I’m a better athlete and wrestler than Goldberg ever was, and people are going to see that over time.” The former WWE Intercontinental Champion concluded while talking about the legend.

Ryback left WWE back in 2016 and after leaving the promotion he went to the independent circuit. In 2018, he announced his retirement from in ring action. However, recently, he expressed his desire to make a return to action. Hopefully, we will get to see him in a wrestling ring again.
