Nothing special has been shown to this week’s Smackdown. They just showed the video promos for the matches at WrestleMania XXX. They showed how the storylines build up and how they led towards WrestleMania XXX. So the match card of WrestleMania XXX remained filled with eight matches (including the pre show fatal four way tag team championship featuring The Usos, The Real Americans, Curtis Axel and Ryback and the Los Matadores). The match card is good, however, it was expected to be better. This week on Smackdown they featured a couple of matches where the Los Matadores and the Real Americans faced each other in a tag team action and Dolph Ziggler went one on one against Titus O’ Neil. These are the only two matchs that have been featured in this week. And the only other thing in this week was the main event segment from Hulk Hogan. There was absolutely nothing in this week. It reminded me of the later parts of the shows like WWE Heat and WWE Velocity. But it was the final week before WrestleMania, so we should not have had a lot of extensions out of this week, especially when the show was Smackdown. Let us see what actually happened in the promo that was cut by ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan on the main event of this week’s show.

‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan came out to the arena. After a number of poses he grabbed a mic. Hulk Hogan said that it felt really good to be back on Smackdown after a long time in the Nation’s capital Washington DC. He said that WrestleMania is a couple of days away, and he felt like he was the WWE champion himself and he was so excited. He had a lot of great WrestleMania memories like thirty years ago on the very first WrestleMania, he won the main event of the show, and at WrestleMania X8 he went one on one against The Rock, but his best WrestleMania moment was from WrestleMania III when he slammed Andre the Giant. The he showed the first look of the trophy for the winner of the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal on the big screen.

Hulk Hogan said that trophy was beautiful. One of the thirty competitors of the battle royal would win the trophy he had a chance of becoming immortal. And to end the segment Hogan said in his typical style; ‘whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania, The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and WrestleMania run wild on you’.
