Former World Heavyweight champion Jack Swagger got released from WWE as per report of Chael Sonnen.
“The All-American American” requested his release from the company earlier. He told in an interview on the podcast “Beyond the Wrestling”;
“It’s still kind of an ongoing process right now,” Swagger told host Chael Sonnen Wednesday. “Basically, it came down to contract negotiations, and we were way off. They didn’t value me at what I thought I was valued at.”
The two-time WWE Champion said it came down to a “business decision.”
He added, “They weren’t giving me the opportunity to make the full amount of income I could for my family, so when you put it like that — it’s time to go.”
Swagger did admit that it was “very frustrating” to perform every night and “entertain these fans” and not get the salary he wanted.
“We want to know we’re working towards something,” he explained.

We noticed Jack Swagger jobbing from quite a while. He was given a major after his WWE debut, he won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on WrestleMania XXVI and also won World Heavyweight championship on the same year. He also won the ECW championship and the United States championship once each.
But he was seen jobbing recently. He even jobbed to other jobbers like Jinder Mahal. After losing to Jinder Mahal he switched his brand to Smackdown where it looked like his status might go up to the mid card level. But after jobbing to Baron Corbin, he is not been seen again. So there is no surprise on his frustration and his request to get released.
