This is the second WrestleMania event where “The Ring General” Gunther is walking in as the WWE Intercontinental Champion. WrestleMania XL is the second WrestleMania where Gunther would be defending his title. Previously, he was able to master both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. This time, he is going one on one with the former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.
The Canadian professional wrestler earned this big opportunity by winning a gauntlet match in an episode of Monday Night RAW. Not all the fans were happy about giving this opportunity to Zayn as they wanted Chad Gable to get this opportunity. But we do not believe that Zayn is not a worthy opponent and he can definitely showcase a WrestleMania worthy performance.

This is not the first time Gunther and Sami Zayn are going one on one. Previously, the duo faced each other last year in an episode of RAW last year where Gunther received a strong victory over the former two times Intercontinental Champion. Gunther is also the favorite for this match. We are expecting one of the best performances of this year’s WrestleMania from this match.
WWE added a lot of emotions with Sami Zayn prior to this match. It was pretty clear that they wanted to sympathize Sami just like they favored Chad Gable to be in this match. So, they showed the same emotions for Sami that made Chad Gable a fan favorite. There are definitely reasons for the fans to support Sami.
The fans expected to see the best match of WrestleMania XL from these two athletes. And it can definitely be rightfully so. It had been a amazing match from the very first minute and just like each and every match of Gunther, there were a lot of near falls. Gunther had been extremely dominant as he hit multiple finishers on Sami.
Sami was able to kick out from a lot of them. At a point, Sami totally lost it, he was not even able to move and Gunther enjoyed the whole scene. But Sami Zayn finally did the unthinkable. He kicked out of everything and finally, The Ring General is dethroned. We finally have a new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
