Trevor Bayliss, the current head coach of England cricket team, will finish his tenure at the end of the Ashes 2019. While the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is searching for a suitable replacement, there are few big names in this list. The present Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur is one of the frontrunners.

Bayliss took charge of the English cricket team in May 2015. Since then, the England cricket team has achieved massive success. Some of those successes are runners-up in 2016 ICC World T20, no.1-ranked ODI side, winning the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup etc. The recent 2019 CWC victory was England’s maiden World Cup trophy winning.

While the English cricket team is currently busy in the home Ashes 2019, Bayliss has already announced that he will finish this role at the end of this series.

The ECB is now searching for a suitable replacement of Bayliss for the head coach role. Mickey Arthur is one of the frontrunners for this role.

Former South African domestic cricketer Mickey Arthur is currently coaching the Pakistan national cricket team. Under his coaching, Pakistan won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and also reached the top position of the Test ranking. Despite Pakistan’s poor performances in recent time, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly wants to retain him for at least any particular format.

According to the latest report of the BBC, England director of cricket Ashley Giles has recently confirmed Arthur’s interest.

Earlier, Arthur played the head coach role of the South Africa national cricket team (2005-2010) and Australia national cricket team (2010-2013). During his tenure, both sides achieved massive success.

Ottis Gibson and Gary Kirsten are the other top coaching candidates for England cricket team

Some other top names are Ottis Gibson and Gary Kirsten. Former Caribbean pacer Ottis Gibson is the present head coach of South Africa national cricket team. Earlier, he was the head coach of West Indies cricket team from 2010 to 2014.

Meanwhile, Gibson also worked twice with the England cricket team. From 2007-2010 and 2015-2017, Gibson was the bowling coach of this team. Now, he wants to become the next head coach of the England cricket team.

Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten is one of the famous coaches at present. Under his coaching tenure, India won their second Cricket World Cup trophy in 2011. He guided the Indian national cricket team from 2008 to 2011. Later, Kirsten also coached the South Africa national cricket team (2011-2013). At present, he is the head coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
