The Undertaker will be competing in his 170th PPV match on this Sunday. He will square off with the Big Dog of the WWE aka Roman Reigns. If he walks out victorious then it will mark his 100th win in the PPV history. At this time, the stats show that he has 99 wins, 66 losses and 5 draws in his overall PPV record.
This would also mark Undertaker’s 25th appearance at the Wrestlemania. With the rumors filling in of this one going to be his possible retirement match, some more reports added fuels to it. Apparently, WWE is arranging something big with this bout to make it a monumental occasion in his career.
According to the reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match between The Undertaker and Roman Reigns would be the main event of Wrestlemania 33. It means this bout will feature last in the match card.
Roman Reigns is a clear favorite heading into this contest and we might see a send-off given to the Phoneme if he ends up losing it.
Multiple reports have suggested that Undertaker is set to undergo a major hip surgery following Wrestlemania. His hip portion will be replaced completely to sideline him for a longer span of time. Hence, he has decided to call it a day from wrestling.
Previously, the Universal championship match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar was supposed to be the main event of the night. However, these two has been in the same spot 13 years ago which turned out to be a big dull moment.
Plus, there have been a negative fan backlash over Goldberg being the Universal champion, as WWE is not considering to make the final encounter between these two, the main event of the night.
WWE is promoting the ‘Show of Shows’ of this year with triple main events. Apart from these two matches stated here, there will be another championship match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt.
These two will fight it out for the coveted prize in all of the sports entertainment i.e. the WWE championship.
