Riding on Robin Uthappa’s 38-ball 68, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored 172 for six against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens on Saturday (April 15).
The two-time Indian Premier League champions were in a spot of bother after they were reduced to 40 for two in the sixth over. For the second match in a row, KKR opted for Sunil Narine to open the innings with Gautam Gambhir.
However, the move did not work this time around, as Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent him packing for only six. Rashid Khan piled further misery on them when he accounted for their in-form skipper Gautam Gambhir for 15 in his first over.
The home team would have found themselves in more trouble had a faint edge from Uthappa on the very first ball not went unnoticed by the umpire. Uthappa fully capitalised on the reprieve and set the foundation for a good total with a brilliant half-century. He added 77 runs with Manish Pandey for the third-wicket before lofting a Ben Cutting delivery straight to Rashid Khan.
Manish Pandey then carried the innings forward, playing some big shots en route to his 35-ball 46 before becoming Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s second victim. The hosts eventually ended their innings on 172.

We just saw a different version of the DRS. Third umpire was 'supposed' to check only the legitimacy of the ball & catch. #KKRvSRH #IPL

The Indian umpires are so average, so unlike-international standards. @BCCI must take regular offenders off the @IPL list #KKRvSRH
