Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is one of the boldest and most charitable celebrities in the nation and the elegant southpaw has taken a great initiative to help the children of the 25 CRPF personnel who were killed in Chattisgarh by Maoists in south Sukma area earlier this week.
The 35-year old has shared that necessary initiatives to provide proper education is taken in the name of his charity organisation Gautam Gambhir foundation.
“On Wednesday morning, I picked up newspapers and saw gut-wrenching pictures of the daughters of two CRPF men killed in the latest attacks. One was saluting her martyred father while in the other picture, the howling young woman was being consoled by her relative,” Gambhir wrote in his column for Hindustan Times.
The Delhi batsman who is currently leading Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League has revealed that he was heart broken after reading the news in the media on Wednesday. He then along with his teammates have worn black bands to pay respect to the martyrs in the tragic incident.
“The Gautam Gambhir Foundation will take care of the entire education expenses of the children of these martyrs. My team has already started work on this and I shall soon share the progress we have made,” he wrote.
Gambhir has further revealed that he was unable to concentrate on the game while playing on Wednesday against Rising Pune Supergiant. However, he played part in their victory by hitting a fifty as KKR cruised to a nine wicket victory.
He said: “It is for the same reasons I love armed forces too, although the quantum of losing a dear one while serving the country can never ever be compared to losing a cricket match.”
Gautam Gambhir is known for his charity work as he is one of the most generous people in helping society among the celebrities in the nation. Previously, he was also an active part of Yuvraj Singh’s You We Can Foundation as he used to organize the foundation in the absence of Yuvi.
