This Sunday we will witness the first Raw-exclusive PPV after Wrestlemania 33. The 5th annual Payback PPV will return at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
Eight matches and a segment have been announced for the show including the United States championship match where Kevin Owens will defend his title against Chris Jericho in a Wrestlemania rematch.
Jericho headed to Wrestlemania as the reigning champion against Owens. However, his former best friend picked up the win to capture his first-ever United States championship victory. This was due to the fact that Jericho’s stint as a WWE superstar was coming to an end. The speculations around major sources stated the possibility much prior to Wrestlemania.
However, he continued to perform even after the grandest event of the year leading to this rematch. Latest reports from 434.com suggested that the outcome of this match would not be anything different since Jericho will leave WWE after April 30th.
Y2J will end up on the losing side, once again quitting this WWE stint of one and a half year.
Furthermore, he might get a farewell segment from the fans on the very next night on Raw. The May 1st edition of the Monday Night Raw will be his last appearance on live television to bid goodbye to the WWE fans. So, this will be the final time that the WWE Universe will receive the “Gift of Jericho”.
Kevin Owens would be the one who will be benefitted with Chris Jericho taking two consecutive losses against him. This would give him a strong push, going forward on Smackdown Live. A superstar like him will always boast about it and climb it to the main event spot, once again by virtue of it.
Chris Jericho will be busy for the entire summer season performing with his band, “Fozzy”. The preview of their new song, ‘Judas’ will be available from May 2nd onwards. In addition, the band will host numerous stage performances around the US music circuit. The concert will kick-off on May 5th in Virginia and will conclude on June 24th in Seattle, Washington.
