The women’s revolution is in full effect from last year onwards in the WWE. The female performers in the company are getting more opportunities than ever to show their hidden talents.
As a result, we have witnessed the first-ever Hell in a Cell match between Charlotte and Sasha Banks for the first time. It was also that occasion when two women main evented a WWE PPV, for the very first time.
Following that match, there were matches like Steel Cage match, Iron-man match, Tables match, Falls Count Anywhere matches. As per latest reports, the women from the Smackdown will get another opportunity to create history, next month.
Reports from Pro Wrestling Sheet hinted that WWE is scheduling a Women’s Money in the Bank match to take place at the PPV with the same name. The PPV is scheduled at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri on June 25th.
The details of the same are yet to reveal but the source confirmed that two ladder matches will take place on the Smackdown-exclusive PPV. One will be contested for the men and the other one will be for the women. The question raises for this one, however, is from where would WWE get enough participants for this additional Money in the Bank match?
As per the latest updates from WWE TV, we will witness a fatal-5-way match on next week’s Smackdown Live. The winner will earn the opportunity for challenging the reigning champion, Naomi at the Money in the Bank PPV.
Presently, there are only six members in the Smackdown women’s division. If two of them get involved in the title match, then it leaves only four of them. It is unlikely that only four women will compete for the briefcase hanging above the ring. There’s no confirmation whether some calls would be made from NXT for this occasion.
This is the first time the Money in the Bank event will comprise only superstars from the Smackdown brand. With most of the superstars being involved in this match and the championship match, there should be a huge void left for the rest of the night.
So, there should be an additional match from the women’s division to take place on that night, for sure.
