At this time, The Welcoming Committee i.e. the team formed by Natalya, Carmella and Tamina are dominating the women’s division on Smackdown live. They competed in huge six-woman tag team action in the WWE Backlash PPV event to derail the team of Charlotte, Naomi, and Becky Lynch.
However, the babyface team has been able to turn the momentum on their side after they have been able to emerge victorious in a match on this week’s Smackdown Live. Charlotte and Becky Lynch became victorious in a match against Carmella and Natalya.
Following the match, the commissioner of Smackdown, Shane McMahon announced that a fatal-5-way match will take place on next week’s episode of Smackdown Live. Charlotte, Becky, Natalya, Carmella & Tamina will compete in with the winner getting a championship opportunity at the Money in the Bank PPV.
Now, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter has been able to throw some lights on the possible winner of this contest. He stated that the creative is going for a Naomi vs. Natalya program in the near future. It means that the Queen of Harts will come out victorious in the upcoming match to start the feud between the two of them.
The main intention of the creative for now is to keep away Charlotte for the championship for quite a while. There were rumours that The Queen will turn on her team at the Backlash PPV in order to resume her program against Naomi and pursue the title.
However, that did not happen due to the reason stated above. Instead, the writers gave a green signal to give Natalya chance to the title. At this time, it will be quite appropriate with her team literally taking over the women’s locker room.
Natalya is considered as a true veteran in the WWE locker room today who is with the company from the last decade. She has been working to put over the newer females for a long time now. Just due to her proper work ethics, she deserves to be the women’s champion for one last time.
In case she does not get to get the title for once more then she will put over the reigning champion, Naomi, for sure showing the trusted employee that she is for the company.
