This week’s edition of WWE Smackdown will mark the final episode before we get to this Sunday’s Battleground PPV. So, it is quite obvious that we will receive the final hype up for the event. The company will have a bigger task at hand since the PPV tickets are not sold entirely, till date.
Smackdown will emanate from the Legacy Arena, Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama. It was already hyped to a certain extent by the announcement from the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal that we will witness the returning Punjabi Prison on the show.
Now, this is going to be a much-anticipated segment since it has been more than 10 years that we have witnessed the demonic structure. Back then in 2007, the WWE was not in the PG era. So, there will be quite alterations made to it in order make it adjacent with the modern era.

Plus, after last week’s absence from the show, Randy Orton will return and confront Jinder Mahal inside the structure. There’s no denying that all hell will break loose when these come face to face to give us a preview of what is coming at Battleground.
The Phenomenal US champion, AJ Styles was probably going to bring back the US open challenge for anybody in the locker room. WWE hosted a poll asking the fans that who should be his first opponent, tonight. But, he is booked in a tag team match instead where Styles and Nakamura will team up against Corbin and Owens.
In the women’s division, Carmella will continue with her pledge to bring back James Ellsworth into the show. The other women excluding Naomi will be busy building momentum for the number one contender’s match at Battleground. We might see yet another tag team match, tonight.
Also, John Cena and Rusev will have the final opportunity to make a bold statement before their flag match on Sunday. Last week, it was Rusev who stood tall against the Cenation leader. We will see if Cena fights back on this week’s Smackdown.
As for the other rivalries, Sami Zayn will get a match against Mike Kanellis which will be the latter’s debut match in WWE. The tag team champions, The Usos are going to have one last night with the tag team titles before they face The New Day for the titles.
