At last year’s Summerslam, Finn Balor featured in one of the main events of the show. He competed in the Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins in a bout that turned out to be one of the finest singles matches in the entire year. He was the one to stand tall by winning the match and becoming the first-ever Universal Champion in the WWE.
He was included to the main roster just weeks prior to Summerslam when the WWE Draft took place. An abrupt push was reserved for him with him being chosen as the new champion over the marquee names like Rollins or Roman Reigns. The momentum, however, did not continue since he suffered a shoulder dislocation on the Summerslam evening.
That forced him to relinquish the title and he got sidelined from the company for more than six years. He was cleared to compete prior to Wrestlemania 33 but missed the event due to lack of planning reserved for him. That led him to return to the flagship show on the post-Wrestlemania episode. But, he was not featured in any mega feuds since then.
Now, with Summerslam coming up, the fans are repeatedly speculating about the future of the Demon King. He was not involved in any match at the inaugural Great Balls of Fire PPV and no further storyline was built around him, either.

But, according to the recent reports from The Dirty Sheets podcast, Finn Balor is set to compete in a marquee match at the biggest event of the summer. His opponent on August 20th will be none other than Bray Wyatt. This would turn out to be a classic feud between two of the demonic characters in the company.
Previously, it was thought that Balor might be included in the Intercontinental Championship picture in the future. But, that has been wiped out, for now. Rather, he will reincarnate the incomplete feud that was once teased on Raw following the Superstar Shakeup.
Wyatt was the one to cost Balor the IC title by distracting him for a couple of occasions. That feud did not witness a proper culmination, at that point. With both of them without having an opponent, right now, this might be the best time for letting these two lock horns.
