Ever since Shinsuke Nakamura has arrived on Smackdown Live, WWE Universe is expecting to see the dream match between him and AJ Styles. These two in-ring technicians have previously locked horns back in Japan to give us a classic match. But, the WWE Universe is still due with this dream bout here in the biggest pro-wrestling promotion of the world.
Now, it is certain that the bout is going to happen, at one point. As per the previous reports, the WWE Creative might have planned this match for Wrestlemania 34 for the WWE Championship. This is also a good way to put aside Nakamura from the title picture in order to reserve him for the grandest event of the year.
However, the scenario might have changed, quickly as we can expect this feud to go down much earlier than thought. In the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez has stated that Styles vs. Nakamura might be happening at the Summerslam PPV. The dual brand event is set to go down on August 20th and it would be a bigger main event for the night.

The wrestling journalist wanted to give hints of a huge matchup for the 30th anniversary of Summerslam from Brooklyn, New York and he came up with this one. According to him, WWE has already teased the inevitable match by making a face-off between these two at the Money in the Bank PPV. Check out his comments:
“I think that is the match. I would say with some degree of confidence that you’re gonna see Styles and Nakamura against each other at SummerSlam. That was the whole idea behind the tease they did at the Money in the Bank show”
Previously, in the last Smackdown-exclusive PPV, Styles, and Nakamura had major face-off while grabbing the briefcase standing on the ladder. However, Baron Corbin came from nowhere and shoved them off but that was a legit tease by the creative.
For now, Styles is booked in the United States Championship picture against Kevin Owens at Battleground. He is also set to win the title, at some point. So, it will be interesting to witness whether the match is contested for the title, or not.
